Magic Carpet did a decent job of finding a transport company for my vehicle, overall communication was good at first. There was a small issue with the "intial" pickup, which was a day before (Thurs) the dealer was ready to release the vehicle (Fri). So Magic Carpet did a good job of getting my vehicle picked up early, but didnt seem to listen when I said it couldnt be picked up until Fri. Not a huge issue.
My vehicle was picked up on Sat afternoon and was to be delievered by JMT transport within 5-7 Days, it was delivered on Tuesday, much earlier than expected. The issue I ran into was the driver who called around 4:30 said he would be there within an hr or 2 - which was good and gave me enough time to make sure I was there. He didnt show up until 9:30; which means it is dark outside. The vehicle also came completely covered in dirt, grime, and grease. This car was brand new (7 miles) from a dealership that did a full detailing. I knew it would get some what dirty but this seemed exessive. It also made it impossible to fully inspect the car since it was dark and filthy. I have now washed the car 4 times since I recieved it - twice in the first 2 days and I am still finding grease and grime spots. Upon washing it the 2nd time, I noticed some scratches on the side skirt (beneath the driver side door) - very minor but for a car that was brand new I was not very happy about it. I called Magic Carpet the next day, and all had to talk to another worker (Casey was on vacation) who said they would sent the insurance information and that was the end of the conversation. Being the first time I had every shipped a vehicle I had no idea what to do. I called Casey back and emailed a couple of times in order to figure out what to do. I was finally told I should call the transport companies insurance (2 weeks after it was delievered). Since the damage was minor $50-$100 max, the insurance company wouldnt cover it - and said I would have to figure it out with the transport company, (Another week went by waiting for this info). So, I ended up calling JMT transport to see if they would help me out with this. They of course would not, due to it being delievered and being so long since it was delievered. They suggested that I tell the driver to turn around and deliver it during the day - which I believe no one would do, but that is just me. Of course if it had been delievered during the day, it would not have really mattered due to how filthy the car was. So in the end, I am stuck with an extremely dirty car and one with minor damage.
All in all, Magic didnt do a horrible job. Communcation was outstanding at first, kind of went downhill after the car was delievered. The "personal account executive" is a little overrated, I ended up talking to 3 different people throughout the process (once was because Casey was on vacation). Not fully sure if I would ever use Magic Carpet again, I think I would prefer a company that owns there own transport vehicles. All Magic Carpet did was find someone that would deliever it at the estimated price that they gave me.
As far as the actual transport company, JMT Transport - they have I believe only a handful of reviews on transport reviews, I would highly not recommend them. They seem to do alot of shady things - such as delievering it at 9:30pm and basically shove the sheet for you to sign down your throat.
