Unable to collect on time, and cost more than quoted

I received a quote of $994 for shipping my MINI Cooper S from KS to NH, and gave a firm date that the car needed to be collected by as I was leaving town for my relocation (that was two weeks from my initial call). As my anticipated departure date neared I kept calling to see if they had found a driver, and was always told that they were still working on it and to hold tight. Magic Carpet was unable to find me a driver who would collect the car before I need to leave, so I had to stay in town a couple of extra days waiting. When they eventually found a driver (for the day after I had been scheduled to depart town), I was informed that he wanted extra money above my original quote to take the job. I was very displeased by both the delay and the extra fees that I had to deal with. Magic Carpet did cut their brokerage fee down by $100 to help with the overcharge by the driver, but I still had to pay $131 more than initially quoted. The car arrived in good condition, but was three days later than promised on that end too (which was OK for me as I had another car to drive). I don't think I would use Magic Carpet again unless I had no timetable on either end of the transport and the cost didn't matter - pretty unlikely. The Magic Carpet reps were always very friendly on the phone, but if they ultimately can't move the car when promised or at the quoted price, nice doesn't count for much.
