I recently went through the process of choosing an auto carrier and shipping my 1966 classic car from the San Francisco Bay Area to Portland, OR. Just picking a carrier alone was a difficult experience. I was also worried because the car is a family heirloom. The reviews on this site were very helpful in identifying reputable companies and companies to avoid (like the plague!). I choose Magic Carpet becasue they are located on the West Coast, my area, and had good reccomendations. I worked with Chris who was professional and communicated everything I needed to know. He communicated by email and phone - really helpful since I travel a lot. He quickly located a driver and booked the transport. The driver was prompt and curteous. He made the estimated 2 day trip on one day. I would deffinately reccommend Chris and Magic Carpet - the service was excellent and price reasonable.
A few things I learned - Don't give a deposit before they pick up your car. If the price is too low, its probably too good of a deal. And be sure to check the Better Business Bureau listings, just because a company has the BB logo doesn't mean they have a good BB rating.
