Good experience with Magic Carpet

I have previously used DAS and found their delivery times and estimates to be quite poor. I have also used high end enclosed driver/owners for some high end cars I have shipped (Ferrari, etc). I decided to try Magic Carpet based on reviews for a 51 Merc i bought (needed restoration, so enclosed not needed). MC as a company is excellent...Jeff Vigue was responsive and called numerous times to ensure things were going as planned and kept me up to date on driver progress when the driver didnt. Also, the shipping was FAST. I called to order on Thursday, by Tuesday they had brokered a truck and i had the car in my driveway by Thursday. 1 week. Only 2 days for shipping....but also understand the car came from WV to NE...a straight shot on I80, the biggest E/W route in the country.

However, understand they are a BROKER which gives them very little control over the actual shipper/truck driver. My driver was mediocre. He could not back the car off the trailer and then he managed to jam the transmission (column shift on a 51 Mercury...he probably had never seen such a thing before) aggressively trying to get the car into neutral. I ended up getting my tow strap and pulling it off the trailer for him with my truck. You get what you pay for. I was happy as I didn't expect more and have much experience with this type of brokered service.MC themselves however were excellent.
