two cars arrived with more than $4000 in damage

Magic Carpet operates as a brokerage, selecting trucking companies to deliver vehicles.
Although my vehicles were picked up more-or-less on time, there were various issues with the driver (who was allegedly arrested after a conflict with the PA police), and ultimately the two vehicles I shipped arrived significantly damaged. Total damage amount was somewhere between $4000 and $5000.

The owner of the company in question who actually transported the vehicles claimed he could not afford this repair amount directly and instead directed me to their insurance company (Progressive). While Progressive was fairly quick to respond, the insured party [the trucking company] evidently has a deductible amount of $1000. I am still awaiting to see that money.

So, although MC is perhaps not directly at fault, I find they are indirectly at fault for apparently not adequately vetting the quality of the trucking companies they contract with and as a result would avoid them in the future.

Kevin I'm very sorry to hear about the damage and the driver issue. We have never had an issue with this carrier company. This is also the first time I heard about this issue. Again Kevin very sorry about the damage. We will take the appropriate actions and we won't be using this company again. Call Jon Posey @ 360-853-2824 or 360-834-2900 ext 7002 Thank you.
