I chose Magic Carpet based on an excellent online reputation but their service and communication turned out to be a comedy of errors. The first driver had mechanical problems and didn't pick up but I didn't hear from and couldn't reach anyone at Magic Carpet to arrange for another carrier. I did heard from at least 5 people from the company, none of whom had talked to the others, to confirm that my truck had been picked up which it had not.

Eventually a second driver picked up the truck but had mechanical problems along the way and was a day late. The driver was nice enough but told me that a brake line had broken during the trip which could certainly happen to a 58 year old truck. However, after having the truck towed to a repair shop I found out that both front brake lines had been broken, likely in the process of securing the truck to the transport trailer. After having the break lines repaired I was driving home only to have the front end shake violently every time I exceeded 45 mph. Back to the shop.
