I contacted All American Transport to get quotes from different auto transporters as I was very nervous about shipping my car from my old home in CA to my new home in OH.
I went to the All American Transport website, www.AllAmericanTransport.net, and filled out a form to get a quote, and Magic Carpet Auto Transport emailed me the quote. I found their website to be very informative. I also got email quotes from about 6 other companies I found the same way.
Even though there were less expensive bids (cheapest was $750), I went with Magic Carpet Auto Transport because of the reviews, their policies and their phone manner. I also didn't want to spend the extra money ($1500 and up) for an enclosed carrier. Magic Carpet Auto Transport charged me $987.
When I called, they were very courteous and I spoke a couple in the office, as I would think of new questions to ask and call back. I spoke to the owner, as well, and then I gave them a tight time constraint, since I would only be able to send the car out between a couple of dates the following week.
One of my concerns was related to insurance. Magic Carpet Auto Transport told me that if I needed to file a claim, they acted as a middleman, so I wouldn't have to deal only with the carrier, At this time, I felt that to be an advantage, since I didn't want to be chasing down a driver. I preferred using a company I could easily reach by phone. Magic Carpet Auto Transport also made me feel confident that the carriers they used were insured and had to meet certain qualifications.
Not only did Magic Carpet Auto Transport find me a carrier within 2 days, but they also found someone who could pick up the car precisely when I needed them to.
I was very pleased with the entire process. The driver picked up the car and drove it to his staging area, told me when he thought he would get to Ohio. I was able to stay in contact with his office during that week. I was called 48 hours prior to delivery, and again the next day. The driver got to my work area on time, and waited a few minutes for me to arrive.
The car was fine, just had road dirt.
All-in-all, I found the experience to be excellent and accommodating to my needs. I would recommend Magic Carpet Auto Transport as a broker and TLC as a carrier without hesitation.
