Finally got my car

This whole industry is driven by brokers which has its pros and cons: The brokers are not the actual transporters so they actually have very little control over how well the car is being delivered or how timely the pick up will be. Brokers just put up a job on a board and wait for transporters to bid on them. Sometimes if your quoted price was too low to begin with, you might be exposed to wait forever to find a transporter who will take the job. I am finding strange that there are so many brokers out there. It must be quite a profitable business.
Magic Carpet quoted me a certain price which they were not able to deliver on and had to add $50. Well at the end another $57 in order to get my car transported in a timely fashion. Since they had no control of the transporter's schedule they either slightly overcommitted or the transporter did and my car ended up being picked up a couple of days late. No big deal, but they did not pick the car up exactly at the time I was told.
I could not be happier with the transporter himself. He delivered on-time, called the morning before the delivery and was extremely quick.
Overall, I am reasonably satisfied with the experience. It is the 4th time I am getting a car moved and this was one of the more pleasant ones.
