It's interesting. You get paid a rebate to post a review. While the notes say that you will still be paid even if you don't give a five-star review- this does influence how you rate a company. Then, I hired a company to transport my vehicle and the company says, please rate only their service as a broker and not the actual guy/truck that picked up and delivered your vehicle. Well, you don't hire a 'broker' you are hiring a company to transport your car.
The 'broker' was 'fine'- not outstanding- fine. I was told to expect my car to be delivered on a Monday. I was not given a time that it would be delivered, not a phone contact number for the driver. So- -I went and did my daily stuff- but, you know, you kind of keep your day open for delivery. So, it gets to be 6pm and I have heard absolutely nothing. Hmmm. So I call Magic Carpet. I went through three different people and was eventually told they would speak with the driver. I got a call back from the broker saying that the driver 'was in the area'.
About three hours later, I got a call from the driver. I was giving one of my children a bath. I listened to the message and he said, that he really needed to off-load my car 'today' (note, this is 9pm at night) and that he wanted to come by at about 11pm. I don't know about you, but (1) this is not delivering the car 'today' and (2) I don't think delivering a car at 11pm (expecting the client to be there ready and willing) is reasonable. So, I called back and got no answer. I left a message asking to confirm 11pm. So...that was at 9pm. I got no call and it was now 1120pm. So, I called the driver back. I was told 'sorry I didn't answer your call- I stopped to eat dinner' and then 'well, I still have a ways to go, but I really need to get the car off'. So, I asked, uh, well, it's 1120 at night, when will you be here. He said- well- I guess it will be pretty late. Uh huh. So, he said, he would deliver in the morning between around 7 to 8am.
So- I set the alarm, waited and waited. Nothing. Got to be 9am. I called; no answer; so left a message basically saying, where the heck are you. I went to work. At 11am, I got a call from the driver's wife/passenger (I think he was chicken to call me) saying they were really sorry, but would be there soon. So...finally, it would be delivered at around 130pm. So- got the car. But, you know, I was told 14 hours earlier that he was down the road and really need to get the car off. I mean- are you kidding me?
Now, unloading was interesting. I watched and he took the car off in front of mine. He like broke off a piece of molding on that car without and didn't even pick up the piece of molding. It was pretty shocking to see how little he noticed or cared. Now, the wifey then came up and asked me to check over the car while it was still on the truck to save time (I had stated I had a meeting to be at 2pm). So, I kind of looked at my car while it was on the truck...don't do this...
Got the car- drove it away. Later, I noticed a good sized scraped on the door handle and, when I opened the hood, the battery cover had been removed and was not put back on the battery. It was just loose in the engine compartment.
OK- the car got to me and 'works'. The 'broker' was what I would consider to be 'expected' (not 5 star- average), and the driver was just really crappy with communication, timing and care for the vehicle.
To me, Magic Carpet was hired to transport my car and I rate the whole experience as 'meh'(average). Far from 5 star. The driver was 'nice enough' but just was not concerned about caring for my car nor for serving the client. He was all about serving himself.
