Price change and poor delivery experience

This is my fifth and worse experience with having a car transported across the country in the last year. Dealing with Magic Carpet was straightforward. I notified them of my timing requirements very far in advance and initially received what I thought was a low quote. Michelle even re-checked the quote while I was on-line and reconfirmed the low quote. Of course near the targeted pickup day, we had to bump the price by another $170. My only complaint for Magic Carpet is that they should have known the going rate for a heavy car, especially when I told them I had very tight timing on the front end. They are professional and I wish I could give them a higher rating, but they should be knowledgeable on pricing with the amount of business volume they have each year. At the delivery end the transporter, BL Express, was incredibly poor. The driver never called to set up the delivery date and apparently had difficulty with English. I asked one of my Spanish speaking friends to call and determine the timing and status of the delivery – several times. Once in the state of Arizona, the night before, the driver promised a delivery time of 4-5 AM, which he missed and ultimately delivered at 10:30 AM with several claims of “trouble on the road." The delivery point was right beside Phoenix, central in Arizona and not an obscure location. The tan leather seats on the inside were dirty as the driver apparently crawled in the rear door to get to the driver's seat. Also, though tough to prove, one of the new tires on the car ran flat within one quarter mile from the delivery point (paved roads). The tire repair noted a slash between the tread about four inches long. I suspect the damage occurred while placing the car on or off the transport truck – another $250 for a tire. Bottom, line – Magic Carpet did a reasonable (not great) job. Avoid BL Express; I will specifically not accept them as a transporter again. I need someone I can reasonably do business with.
