I called on a Tuesday, told them the car would most likely be ready on Thursday. I contacted them on Wednesday late in the day and told them it was ready. On Thursday they told me it would be picked up on Friday for delivery on Monday, or perhaps over the weekend. At that point I paid a deposit by credit card. In the end the car WAS picked up on Friday in Virginia, and WAS delivered to me in Vermont WITH NO PROBLEMS except delays in the time of day.
On Friday morning I received a call from the driver on his way to pick it up. I missed his calll and he left me his cell phone number (which was great to have). He thought he might see me on Sunday. He said he would call me on Saturday (but he didn't - no fault of Magic Carpet). On Sunday I wanted to know what was up so I tried to use the vehicle locator on the MC website, but the page returned an error message and did not work.
The driver was very nice. The car arrived in the same condition it was picked up and the transaction was flawless, except for delays the day of the Monday delivery. It was a bit delayed, but again, no fault of MC.
I considered some other carriers before choosing MC. One was much cheaper (and rated well too), but upon careful review of their policies, it became clear that if the other company couldn't find a driver for the price they were offering to pay, they would keep $50 of the deposit. That didn't feel right to me.
