Delay, delay, delay then more money

First of all, Michelle was extremely pleasant on the phone. I really thought she was nice and wanted to believe her. However, my experience was very frustrating. I called a couple of weeks early for an August 17th pick up. The pick up was for the Washington DC area so is on the way for major transport. However, the pick up date took a while. We were hoping for car to be picked up on the 17th, but Michelle said she couldn't find anyone. I just find that difficult to believe. Finally, after a couple of weeks, she found someone for 9 days after the date requested. I had no choice but to take the date. THEN, they increased the price by $160! This is what really troubled me. By then I was already delayed so felt I had no choice. She made it sound like it could be a couple more weeks if I didn't take it. So, I said okay. However, the car was not picked up that day. I cleared my schedule so I could be available and stay home from work....but no pick up. Same thing the next day...I kept getting calls moving the time. Finally on the third day the car was picked up. This is not Magic Carpet's fault, but they didn't even have a ramp so someone drove our car away. It was supposed to be delivered on August 31st, but the date moved to Sept 1st. Then on the delivery end the same thing happened where the date and time kept changing. This is very disruptive to our plans and is very frustrating. We finally got the car the night of September 3rd. I just wish they had been upfront from the beginning and did not charge me more money. MICHELLE 360-834-2900. Laurie, I am really sorry that things did not work out with our service how you had wanted. It is out of my control how much truly a carrier will want for a load. I always do my best at pricing accurately and this industry does undergo market changes regularly. We do our best to anticipate these changes. Thanks for the feedback.
