I was very disappointed with Magic Carpet on my first (and likely only) experience of having a vehicle shipped across country. After using this site, reading reviews and getting multiple quotes I contacted Magic Carpet and arranged a pick up 3 weeks before my requested pick up date. On the day of the pick up, Magic Carpet contacts me to inform me that my vehicle is over the height limits for a normal delivery and will cost at least $350 more to deliver. I was very clear up front that I was looking to (and received a quote to) ship a Volkswagen Vanagon. Since I informed them of the specific vehicle I was looking to ship and they asked no questions to collect additional information, I don't see how the vehicle should be considered "oversized" or how its size could be a surprise to them. The vehicle is the size that the vehicle from the manufacture, there was no over-sizing or abnormality about it. They told me there was nothing they could do and they were sorry they had forgotten to ask about the van's height.
I put that pick up on hold, contacted another 5 star company found on this site and within 2 hours, I had a new deal to have the Van picked up (at it's normal size) for $50 less than the original Magic Carpet quote.
