If you are like how I was, a person who needs to ship a car who has never done it before and is overwhelmed by all of the companies, I strongly recommend Magic Carpet. There are many companies that will promise you anything to get your deposit and then do not deliver what they said. Magic Carpet is reasonably priced, but, most importantly, does what it promises.

I spent about 20 hours researching the process. Here is what I learned. Magic Carpet, like most companies, is only a broker, not the actual mover. Magic Carpet will bid your job out onto a "board" where moving companies decide which ones to take. A good broker makes their mark by bidding your job at a low, yet reasonable rate, depending on market conditions, and then only using quality moving companies. Make sure to make your approval of the mover a condition on the job. The mover is moving your car, not the broker. If something goes wrong, you are having to deal with the mover, not the broker.

No broker can guarantee a specific pick-up date. A higher amount bid may get your job chosen before someone else's. However, it is all about trucks going your way. If a broker promises a date to get your "deposit," run away quickly.

The "deposit" is not a deposit. The deposit is actually the broker's fees. That is why you can pay the "deposit" by credit card, but have to pay the mover cash when your car arrives.

Magic Carpet worked with me throughout the process. I was kept updated on potentially available trucks and was given the name of the mover in advance- a very good company.

Good luck.
