Carrier picked up car a day early (Sunday Feb 20th). Very nice guy, although with his accent it was hard to understand him on the phone. He didn't want to come down our narrow road and asked me to meet him in town, which was only a half mile from us so it wasn't a big deal. He told me he'd be leaving the next day and the car would be there on Thursday March 3rd at the latest, probably earlier but he wanted to allow a full 10 days in case the weather was bad. When I called on Tuesday March 1st and spoke with Kathy to ask her about the status of my car she was very sassy to me and said..."well Mam, I'm gonna need an order number first!" How about saying "Certainly, if I can get your order number I'll look that up for you." Kathy should not be working customer service. She did nothing to reassure me that my car was being taken care of, instead made me feel bad for calling and asking about the status of my car. She put me on hold while she called the carrier and reported back that he would not be there until Friday or Saturday. When I explained to her that he had said Thursday she said "didn't he explain to you that it would be a full 10 days?" YES Kathy, I can count to 10 and Friday or Saturday puts it at 12-13 days from time of pick up. Look, I get it...sometimes things don't show up on time, but at least give me a call to let me know. The carrier called me Friday night to say he'd be there Saturday by noon, maybe 2PM. I called him around 1 PM and he said he was 100 miles away and wouldn't be there until 4PM. Called again around 6:30 because he still wasn't there. He said he was about 10 miles away and wanted us to meet him in a parking lot. Magic carpet advertised that they would pick up and drop off our car at our home so long as they could get their truck in safely. There was absolutely no reason that his truck couldn't get to our new home and when I told him this on the phone he still refused to drive to our home. We had a massive moving truck come park on our street to deliver our stuff, but he couldn't??? So you'll only pick up/drop off a car at a house if you live in a massive parking lot?? On the phone he also said that he needed to put our car through the wash because another car had dripped oil all over ours. Why he placed a car that was leaking that much oil on top of another car is beyond me. When we met him at the BP gas station he was rinsing the oil off with a hose. The car was filthy. He gave me $10 to take it to a car wash. There didn't appear to be any damage so we signed the paper and left. After how I'd been treated and how long I'd waited I just wanted my car so I could get back to put my kids to bed. I wished I'd reviewed the policy with Magic carpet before picking up the car. It was dark outside and with all the filth on the car there was no way I could have seen the scratches all over the front bumper. It took us several washings to get all that oil off. The alloy wheels were also damaged. According to the policy I have no way of receiving compensation for the damage because I signed. This is my fault for not remembing to reread the policy. Overall, unhappy with Kathy's poor customer service. Kathy, if you hate your job and want to treat people like they are just another number, then you should quit and find something that makes you happy, because you made me feel like crap. Magic carpet should not use that carrier if they are going to refuse to pick cars up and drop off at a person's home as they are advertising. I had read so many great reviews online about Magic Carpet which is why I chose them. Unhappy with my choice.
