Lack of Good Service

I contacted Magic Carpet Auto Transport based on my son-in-law's positive experience years ago with Magic Carpet. I needed my car to be transported from Charleston, SC to Onset, MA with a pick up on or about May 2, 2011 and deliverey on or about May 5, 2011. I placed my order with "Stephanie" on or about April 15, 2011 and agreed to a quoted price of $800. The quoted price of $800 was a little higher than other internet quotes I had received.

Throughout this whole experience Stephanie never contacted me.

About a week before May 2nd I called Magic Carpet and spoke with Stephanie and was told that there was "plenty of time" and not to worry. On May 2nd I called Stephanie and she said that no trucker had yet agreed to take my car and I should not worry. On May 4th I flew back to MA and my car was still in Charleston, SC. Again I talked with Stephanie and she had nothing more to say other than to keep waiting. On May 6th I called Stephanie and she offered nothing to me other than to continue waiting.

By now I had to rent a car, thus incurring more expense and hassle with this unacceptable follow-through and lack of effort of Magic Carpet.

I was so desparatethat I went back on the Internet to contact other transport companies. Other companies assured me that my car would be moved from SC to MA. I hired Kim Foster, owner, of Tru Auto Transport. She had a designated transporter within one day, my car was on a truck on Monday, May 9th and delivered on Wednesday morning, May 11th.

Although Magic Carpet may have a "posted 5 star" rating, my Rreal Llife Experience with them was as an exasperating "Black Hole" filled with frustrating and unfulfilled promises, no real customer service or follow-through, and the additional expense of having to rent a car while waiting for Magic Carpet to perform. I was relieved to have fired them and move on.

Christine, I am sorry to hear you did not have a great experience with our company. However, i did work my very hardest to try and get a carrier assigned for you. And my number one goal is to make every customer happy with our company. Again, i am sorry i was not able to do that for you. As i had mentioned previously to you while looking to get a carrier assigned, is that there are two reasons a vehicle will not get picked up and that either price or location. In our case for this route it was the locationthat was our problem. This route is not a very common location and due to not having many other request for this route our supply for carriers was very low. I always try my hardest with each and every customer i work with to get their vehicles picked up in a timely fashio and or within the time frame they need their car moved. Very rarely do i run into a problem such as yours. Once again, i do apologize for the inconvienience. Take Care!
