I needed transportation from an auction location in SC to FL, particularly the ports. There were certain restrictions that made finding a driver difficult. I had paid another company in advance of the service and they kept me hanging for more than a week, and wanted me to pay a higher rate than originally quoted. I asked them to honor the contract or cancel, and they dropped me. I started looking for a new transport company. Unfortunately, one site I went on spammed my contact and vehicle information out to more than 15 places and I didn’t find out until I started getting multiple calls, emails and texts.
The first company to email was Mercury, from Eric La Gra, and the quote was reasonable. I paid it no mind and checked the others. Then another company left a voicemail and said that I was listed like 4 times for pickup, and they’d need to find a work around to get a driver but she was up to the task; I was horrified! I appreciated her voicemail, but the quote seemed too low compared to what I was quoted by my original company and even Mercury.
So I called Eric La Gra from Mercury, and when he looked at my quote info, he was honest and told me that it would be very difficult to get a driver because my vehicle was listed so many times on the dispatch server. He said that he wasn’t going to waste both of our time and wished me luck. I immediately started blocking the emails and numbers from other companies. I was so frustrated with the spam. I really needed to pickup my vehicle as I was gaining storage fees from the auction house. I emailed Eric for advice. We traded a few emails, I told him what had really happened; he proposed a plan and I went with it. He made some calls and got me a driver, then called me to confirm if I was comfortable with the arrangements. I accepted and digitally signed a new contract.
The driver contacted me and was able to carry out the service. Eric didn’t have to help me, but he did. His initial transparency led me back to Mercury and I am more than happy to give this feedback. Thanks again Eric and Mercury, for your professionalism and going above and beyond!
