Overall a good experience. However...

I've indicated a "late" pick-up only because I was sent an email stating it had been picked up at 1:08 on Friday afternoon. Since the dealer had told me he'd call when the car was picked up, I called him to verify. He said the car was still there. I called Montway and stated the situation. They promptly contacted the company (Alda Logistics) handling the shipment. I was told that there was a mix-up and that it would be picked up at 5:30 that day. I let the dealer know. I called the dealer at 6PM and 7:55PM EST (just before close) to check and they indicated noone had shown.

I waited until the next morning (about 10:45 CST) and called Alda directly. The rep told me that his driver had been to the dealership on Friday and the contact person wasn't there and noone knew what car was to be shipped so he left. The rep said he needed the last 6 digits of the VIN. While getting it, I told him it was odd, since after getting the email that it had been picked up, I was in touch with the dealership multiple times and was told noone ever came in. The rep said he'd get the VIN to the driver and call back in a few minutes to verify pick-up time.

When he didn't call back, I called him and he said that the driver had the dealership on his GPS and would be there in 15 minutes. If he'd been there the day before, he should have known where it was already. His tone of voice was more conciliatory, however, so rather than get into all that, I thanked him and let it go.

I'm guessing the driver may have been at the wrong dealership (there is another one of the same name about an hour away in a town with a similar name - although I gave the street address). But I do feel someone was not being completely honest - either the driver, the Alda rep, or both (no qualms at all with Montway).

Anyway, the car arrived Monday afternoon in great condition. I was called about 2-1/2 hours before arrival and he got there within minutes of his ETA. Very careful unloading.

Again, overall a good experience
