Montway Auto Transport

I purchased a car from a dealership in Maryland and needed transport to Austin, Texas. I found Uship's auction/bid option online and gave it a try (it supplied an estimated price range). I initiated the auction on a Saturday evening, and by Sunday morning I already had 3-4 bids and questions from a couple of them. I declined the highest one. Montway sent two bids, with the second one coming in a bit lower, so I chose them based on price and customer reviews. I gave Thursday as the earliest pick up day, and by Wednesday I still hadn't received the name of the driver scheduled to pick up the car- customer service asked me to be patient & said it could take up to 5 days for the pick up from earliest day listed. Friday afternoon I received the email that the pick up was scheduled for Saturday. (I was traveling and didn't see the email til Saturday, right after the car had been loaded). The BMW sales guy said that the driver took video of the car being loaded (I never saw this, but that's ok). The update that the vehicle had been picked up didn't show up in the computer system until at least 24 hours later, but I didn't mind that. They did list a phone number that I could use to call the driver directly. Sunday evening I received a call that the car was scheduled to be delivered to me between 11a - 12p on Monday, and we agreed to speak Monday morning to firm up the meet time. When I spoke with the driver at 8:30a, we were still on for 11a-12p, but agreed to speak again after the cars before mine were take care of. At apx 10:30a, I phoned the driver, who checked the list again, and then estimated he could meet me between 2-3pm! Yikes. I let him know that I was peeved, and now stranded (I'd gotten a ride to a location where the large carrier could navigate), but he apologized and explained that a car broker had failed to show up on time and delayed everything about 2 1/2 hours. SO, we rescheduled for later in the day. I called him a couple of times to get an updated ETA, but no answer (mildly frustrating, but oh well). He arrived around 4:30pm, but I didn't need to get another ride because I had asked him to offload the car and drive it the couple of miles to my house. (And he kindly obliged my request). The driver (Larry) was very nice, very professional, let me walk around/inspect the car, then my kids and I dropped him back at his truck. All in all, I'm please with the experience. More communication and professionalism than the last time I transported a car (that was a verbal arrangement and me crossing my fingers, paying on arrival), but don't let the Transport Tracking system fool you into thinking it'll be updated & completely accurate automatically, etc. PLUS- I paid about $300 less than a friend who recently did this same thing without using Uship's bidding system!
