Transporter was contracted by Suncoast Auto Transport out of Florida and was recommend due to prior use with no alleged problems- Deposit was forwarded to broker via credit card, and of course, non refundable- I requested non Russian transporters due to prior shipping problems in the not to distant past- So I'm a bigot I guess- It's my money!!!!!!
Vehicle was picked up in a relatively short period of time and was delivered one day ahead of schedule- Vehicle was unloaded and on the ground when call was received to take possession- Upon inspection, the vehicle was filthy and it revealed a smashed front fender and a dented rear bumper-
Here's the kicker!! Upon questioning the driver, (Russian) he immediately showed the inspection report signed by the splittail from whom I purchased the vehicle- That may be all well and good you would think, and exonerate the transporter of any liability- However, the driver had possession of the original report written in ink, not a duplicate as was my copy???????
Original should have been retained by the shipper at the time my vehicle was loaded, possibly preventing any alteration during transport- Just saying!!!! Who can you trust today when money is involved???????
Well, I'm now the owner of a classic vehicle with 2,000$ in damage and a loss of 9,500$ in NADA value, because of the designated loss of an "unmolested" one owner, forty year old classic- Sweet~
If I live long enough to ever purchase a vehicle that requires transport across the country, I will beg, borrow or steal the extra money to employ a top shelf hauler- It's worth it!!!!!!!
Karma, will decide their destiny~
