I had my 2006 Pontiac Solstice transported Jan. 12, 2011 from Washington state to Florida by NAO Auto from Spokane, WA.. I paid $1600 to have it transported in a closed carrier as the car was the original Solstice made and in excellent condtion with only 6000 miles and only driven in nice weather. It was covered in our garage unless it was driven.
When it was picked up my sister backed it out of the garage in light rain and Dan the driver checked it over and filled out the Bill of Lading, noted two small scratches. The car was delivered by Dan 10 days later to Florida in the AM. When he backed the car the car out it was filthy covered with mud and had some oil leaked on the back in several places.I said "What the Hell happened to my car?" Dan said he had to back it out in bad weather to change places with other cars. I was unable to call the Broker Karoline in LA because it was a Saturday and 6AM in LA where she was located. Dan pushed me to sign the Bill Of Laing and give him his cashiers check. I didn't know what to do as my husband had recently been killed in a boating accident so I foolishly signed it. I couldn't see out the windshield to drive it so I had to hire a reputable Detailer to clean it up. He said there was NO way the car could have been that filthy if it was covered the entire trip, it must have been put on a flatbed truck for part of the way. He made out a written statement to NAO Auto describing the dirt outside and inside the car and the dripped oil on the back. He put in my garage so I didn't know until Tuesday when I drove it (because I had a rental car until then) that there was also a sizable glass chip in the windshield that later started running requiring a windshield replacement. I sent pictures from my Iphone Email to Karoline and called her with all the above information requesting that I be reimpursed for the detailing of $128, reimbursed to have my windshield replaced, and be given part of my money back to have the car covered which obviously it hadn't been the entire trip, She referred me to the owner of NAO Auto Tim at 509-466-7849. He was very condensending and rude and told me since I was stupid enough to sign off on the Bill of Lading that cleared his company of any responsibility and all they would pay for is the cost of the detailing. I told him I had 4 witnesses that saw the condition of the car and told him I would write the Better Business Bureau and he said go ahead! Karoline told him she would never use them again after the way he treated me! First NEVER use NAO Auto and NEVER sin off a Bill of Lading unles you've written the condition of the car upon arrival!!
