They subcontract and take no responsibility after that

Hello,

National Car Transport came highly recommended from a good friend who had 2 cars moved from WI to Southern California. I called and got a quote that was considerably higher than he paid and other quotes. I negotiated a better rate based on the price he paid and I hired them. The subcontracted the job to a company called Intransit (which shows up nowhere) out of Everett, WA. They picked up my cars on time, but delivered 3 days late and asked for an additional day. I got my cars and they insisted I sign the BOL and pay them before they took them off the carrier. My van had been driven 23 miles and had no gas, when I showed the driver the difference in the Odometer readings, he couldn't give me an explanation. They also moved the back seats of the van far forward as if they moved something with it. He called his manager who simply denied it. I had already signed a clean BOL. The 2 months later I get notice that my van, during the dates between 8/4-8/13 while in their possession, was involved in 3 toll violations in Illinois. I had proof that my van had been driven illegally while in their possession. BTW, my other car had no additional mileage, so it wasn't an issue of transporting it from one large truck to another. When I called to complain and ask NCT to pay for these violations and give me a refund before pressing criminal charges, they took no responsibility and simply said it was Intransit's responsibility. Neither company will return my calls or email any longer. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
