They take your money, hire another company, and disappear

After my cars were delivered, they sent me an email asking about how their service was, and this was my reply:

When I called National Transport, and then National Transport hired
another company, it fell through the cracks as to who was keeping
track of the transport dates. With lack of communication from your
company, I contacted the driver, who would give me specific dates.
However, when those dates came (both for the pickup and drop off), the
driver was a no show. Again, there was no communication from National
Transport. When I called the driver on both occasions, he informed me
that the dates were changing.

I realize transporting vehicles cross-country isn't an exact science,
and it needs approximations for dates. However, when the driver says
"Friday" or "Saturday" a couple days out, I make plans based on this.
I tell the car rental company that the car is coming back on Saturday
because our cars are showing up. When Saturday comes, you might
imagine we are sitting around the house waiting for the driver and
planning on returning the car. Again, with no word from National
Transport (as the offices are closed on Saturdays and there is no off
hours contact) I call the driver and find out he is in Arizona, not
California. When asked if he contacted the dispatcher about this, he
dodged the question. When I asked again, he got frustrated and hung
up on me.

I'm aware that this transaction had a couple other companies involved.
As a business owner myself, I routinely hire freelancers and
subcontractors. If I found out that during a phone conversation, one
of my subcontractors was rude and hung up on a client, I would be
absolutely mortified. After relaying this information on the weekend
answering machine at National Transport, the call back I got offered
nothing other than what should have been done from the start: the
drop-off time. Which again, still was inaccurate as the truck broke
down.

So, if your goal is to exceed industry expectations, I'm not exactly sure what the
industry standards are. But, every company I've personally dealt with
in this move has been difficult to work with, uncommunicative,
overpriced, and unable to hold to the timetables communicated to me.
In the grand scheme of things, it all seems right on par.
