Friday evening, Aug. 30, I was assisting a friend in getting a 1967 Camaro down to Houston from Ohio.
Although the car is by no means in show condition, it is all original and in great shape for a car that old that has not been restored at all... not a door ding on it, and obviously we wanted to keep it that way, so we decided on an enclosed carrier.
I went online, and after reading reviews on several companies, I settled on NTS and proceeded to fill out an online quote request. Within a few hours I had an automated email quotation from NTS. Saturday morning I received a follow up call from Nathaniel.
I told him that we needed it brought down asap, but at the time I spoke with Nathaniel @ NTS, I did not even have a firm delivery zip code, much less an address to give him... we were still shopping for a storage unit.
In any case, Nathaniel did not stumble in the slightest over the lack of a delivery address. He reassured me that he could get the ball rolling and that he would update the system once I had a firm delivery address.
Since the weekend was already upon us, Nathaniel made it clear that the drivers would not be reviewing pick up orders until Monday, and that a reasonable time for physical pick up probably would land around Thursday, Sept. 5, which seemed to be more than enough time for us to line up a storage unit, which we did that weekend and I notified Nathaniel on Monday.
Tuesday, Sept. 2, I received a phone call from Nathaniel. He wanted to make me aware that he had a driver in the area where the car was, but it was not an enclosed carrier, and we would save $200.00... he simply wanted to give me the option since he knew we were in a hurry to bring the car down, but he made it clear that an enclosed carrier was on schedule for Thursday pick up.
I never got the impression that this was a bait and switch, and I do not believe it was. The sincerity in the way Nathaniel handled this came through very clearly.
I scrambled to contact my friend and see if that was OK, and also to review the weather forecasts along the general route... I certainly did not want to expose the car to a hailstorm.
Since no dangerous weather was forecast in the general area of the route, my friend approved of the open carrier. Within 3 hrs. the car was loaded and on the road leaving Ohio for God's country!
The driver arrived in Houston on Wed. night, and we agreed to meet Thursday morning at the storage unit.
By 10:30 a.m. on Thursday (the original pick up date), the car was locked up in the new storage unit. It arrived in perfect shape, the driver was professional, friendly and courteous.
This was an easy, peezy transaction, and it was all due to the way Nathaniel negotiated the whole thing.
I would highly recommend Nationwide Transport Services..
