I hired Navy Auto Transport because I received several emails plus phone calls that there were trucks in the Goshen,Indiana area ready to pick up my vehicle. I had a short time frame for the pickup and delivery but was assured that my car could be picked up. There was a minor issue getting the contract electronically signed as there was a $15 processing fee that had not been mentioned at all. I only learned of it by reading through every line of the contract. Upon contacting Navy Auto about the fee, I was told I could go directly to the bank to make the deposit to the account but that there was no other way to get around the fee. After explaining that it was deceptive to not have been told there would be an additional fee plus the fact that I live 45 minutes from that bank, my agent said he would talk to his boss to see if they could just lower their portion of the charges. My agent called back eventually and said the new contract would be emailed shortly(this was just after 3pm). I learned much later that evening(after reaching out to my Navy Auto agent) that apparently the new contract couldn't be emailed after 5pm and somehow did not get sent that day from the front office. I was told I would receive it the following morning. The next day after 3 working business hours I called them to see when my updated contract could be expected to be emailed as I still had not received it. When the new contract was finally emailed to me the charges had been modified shifting $15 to the transport driver from Navy Auto charges but the fee was still there. So it was still $15 more than agreed upon. I stupidly just agreed because I had been led to believe my car was being picked up that day. Five (5) days later my car had yet to be picked up. I was told that maybe in a few more days or for sure by the beginning of the following week it would be picked up. At this point I recontacted several other transport companies and learned that the route from Goshen, Indiana to South Texas was generally a very quiet/slow/not busy route. I would need to offer the drivers more money in hopes of a getting a driver to pick up my car. I called Navy Auto and explained that I needed to cancel my contract with them and asked if I needed to do this in writing via email. They apologized that it hadn't been picked up yet and that they would leave the request active until the following day midday. I explained that would not be necessary. I was cancelling the contract effective immediately. I had booked a flight in the morning and would be driving my car back myself. I flew on points which ended up costing about $100, had points for a hotel room at a reduced cost and had to get a few tanks of gas. Ultimately it cost me about $250 and 2 days of my time to fly up then drive my car to south Texas. Over all the shipping quotes I saved $600 plus! The benefit was I had my car when I needed it and not whenever they finally would get around to picking it up and bringing it to me. I had also been told that once it was picked up it would be roughly 4 days or more before it would be delivered if there were no issues with the transport along the way. I am so glad I went myself to get the car as there were no guarantees within the contract for a delivery time frame just an expected time frame. I am still getting emails from Navy Auto that there are trucks in the Goshen area with spots available a week after being home. I also received these emails on days when the car was anticipated being picked up! What a scam! What a lie!
