Precision Movers Group has been nothing but a grueling headache. Moving to a new state after graduating college was something I looked forward to, but Precision has permanently put a foul taste in my mouth regarding the experience. This is not my first encounter with a moving company; coming from a military family I have moved to multiple times, between 8 states and many cities within those states.
To begin, there is a large discrepancy between what I have been told by the employees who man the phone, the movers and the contracted warehouse owners. A lack of communication is just the tip of the iceburg in the abyss of problems I come across with this company. I was scheduled to move on Saturday, August 25th from Baton Rouge, LA, at a requested time of 9AM. That time could not be accommodated, but they promised a pick up of between 1-2PM. The movers did not show until 5:45PM. The movers, for their part, did a quick and speedy job of moving my things into a large Budget truck that had multiple orders in it.
My things were then sent to a warehouse in Houston, TX- almost dead center between Baton Rouge and the final destination, Austin, TX- and have stayed there, without the hope of moving, for the past 11 days. Having kept in touch with "customer service" for the past week and a half, I have received conflicting, demeaning and incorrect quotes from the customer service team. At pickup, they quoted a 2-3 day delivery. At the end of that span, I had to call multiple times to get a satisfactory (and at the time, what seemed to be well-informed) answer: according to the contract they had 7 business days to move my belongings, and would not do so until that time frame was reached.
I had the misfortune of Labor Day Weekend stalling my order. I called on Tuesday, September 3rd to remind them of the 7 business day time frame, and that it would expire on the next day, Wednesday the 4th. They seemed at best unfazed by the situation, repeating that he would put a note to "expedite" the shipment from the warehouse. This was a note that had been "added" at least 3 times before.
So, here I am, 11 days after my shipment has been picked up, still unable to get any sort of answer to the question of my life at the moment: "when will my clothes, sofa, pots and pans, microwave, bed, work uniform, etc. get here?" And still no answer.
I have asked if it is possible to retrieve a few of my boxes from the warehouse in Houston. And, alas- it is! For the small fee of a couple hundred dollars.
I highly recommend that you find another moving company, perhaps one with an idea of what they are doing, and a decent customer support team to keep you informed. One, perhaps that understands that your livelihood and ability to function in a new city depends on the boxes of things that are being held hostage in a warehouse hours away.
Don't hire Precision Moving Group. As much as I wish I could distance myself from this company, the end does not seem to be in sight, save yourself the frustration and headache.
