I received several quotes from many companies and went with Progressive because of cost. The day the car was to be picked up I hadn't heard from Veronica to confirm time; she had said the driver would call me the night before and they didn't. I left two messages before noon, she returned my call at 12:45, the day of scheduled pick up. She said they couldn't honor their "quote" of $400 and it was only a quote, not guaranteed. SHE SAID THE TRANSPORT COMPANY COULDN'T DO IT FOR THAT AND THEY WANTED MORE. She wanted an additional $50 to pick it up or she could get it picked up in 5 days for the same price. She knew I had a deadline of that day for moving the car.

I told her she had an hour to honor the quoted price or I would find another carrier. She called back in 10 minutes, honored it and the car was picked up that afternoon.

This is where it's interesting. I was chatting with the wife of the driver of the transport truck while he was loading my car. She said Veronica had called early that morning and CANCELLED my order because I changed my mind. She showed me the paperwork. Then Veronica called back at noon and added my car back on, for the original price of $400. The woman said they never raised the price with Progressive. Veronica just thought she could squeeze $50 out of me if she waited for the last minute. I will never use them again, and I move a car on average 1-2 times a year.

This customer paid the exact price she wanted and had her car picked up and delivered on the exact dates she wanted. The carrier/ driver initially requested an additional $50. When we told the driver that the customer said her way or the highway he decided to take the load at that price.
