What a Nightmare

Proven Auto Movers was the worst. This is my 3rd car transport and I decided to go with them because they had great reviews. After this experience, it makes me believe every site has fake reviews. I’ve also learned not to use a broker (Proven Auto is a broker company and they are just the middle man…no help whatsoever when it comes to getting things done).
My transport was from California to Pennsylvania. My car pick up was supposed to be July 2nd (Thursday before July 4th weekend; I was also flying back to Pennsylvania on the 6th). The day before the pickup, I called Proven to make sure a truck can come before 3PM. Milton (at Proven Auto) told me that would not be a problem and that I would get a call from the driver. The next morning (the day of the move), I realized I hadn’t received a call from the driver so I called Milton again…still told me the driver would call me. Around noon, still no call. Finally, around 1PM, the third party (CFR Line/ Green Trucking LLC) called me and said they’ll be there around 6-7PM. This already made me angry because I confirmed with Milton that the pickup would be before 3PM (the reason I needed it before that time was because my friends were throwing me a farewell party at 5PM as well as I booked a rental car for the weekend thinking the pickup would happen on time)
Around 4PM, I called the third party once again to confirm what time they were going to come since I had to reshuffle my schedule. THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE CANCELLING THE PICKUP!!!! The best part was since they were on the East Coast and I was calling from the West Coast, they were ready to go home for the weekend since it was already late for them. I really started crying while talking to them because I was sooo frustrated. What made is worse was I thought I could call Milton and he would figure things out for me since I was leaving a few days later; instead, he was gone for the weekend as well. And then the kicker was that I couldn’t get reimbursed for my rental car. Milton kept saying he would find out if his company would reimburse me and would call me back. NEVER CALLED BACK….
In the end I had to leave my car with a friend and the car was finally picked up a week later than originally scheduled. More expenses out of my pocket for another rental car.
Long story short, if they keep saying “Someone will call you” or “I’ll call you back”, they really don’t follow through. You really have to manage the whole transport yourself!!! And don’t have high expectations!
