I agreed to a price and pick up location for transport from Louisiana to California. Four days after the first available pick up date I received a call from Rachel stating that a driver was in the area but wanted more money. I reluctantly agreed to the additional cost because I was anxious to get the vehicle. Then the driver calls and wants the vehicle moved about 30 miles so he can pick it up more easily. He kept negotiating the distance we had to move the vehicle (which could not be done because I was not there and had just left a key) and finally said he couldn't pick the vehicle up because it was at a residence- the same address the company had agreed to!
I told the driver we would have to wait for another truck, then received an irate call from Rachel was incredibly rude and said people often have to move their cars to a different location. When I told her this wasn't possible she started swearing at me, saying "this is bull****" and "I don't want to move your f*******g car anyway!"
When I asked for the deposit to be returned she told it wasn't refundable. I called my credit card company and they have returned the money and begun an investigation.
I have since learned that no honorable transport company asks for a deposit before they pick up your vehicle. This is just a scam to collect deposits!!
