My truck was delivered on schedule as expected and was on an open trailer - therefore, it was not spotless clean (if it even left the dealer clean). Not a big deal to me.
The driver was very professional and helpful in familiarizing me with some of the basics of my new truck. Overall, the delivery experience was what I expected.
However, I was not aware that the price could increase when a driver became available. It was related to me that the first available driver refused to deliver the truck at this distance unless I paid $145 more than contacted with Red carpet. The driver mentioned that he was delivering the other vehicle on his trailer to a customer just 15 miles away from me. It seems that he may have been coming this way after all. Hmmmn. I did not hear of nor see any mention of this practice in the contract. Not a pleasant thing when I get a call from Tige Yeargin and am asked to add another $145 or wait for a driver who would accept the agreed upon price.
Red Carpet asked me to give them a 5 star rating with the possibility that I would qualify for a drawing to win the return of my transport costs. This does not appear to be an ethical business practice to me. Clearly I could not do that.
