Ride Movers quoted my son $800:$150 upon contractand $650 upon delivery, promised a pick up if not at our house then near our house, and told him he could put some household goods in if they weighed less than 50 lbs and stayed below the window area.

My son was already in California so I handled the Virginia end. The truck refused to come near our house even though I offered to find a route for him. The driver yelled at me when I could not leave work immediately to drop the car at his inconvenient location and threatened to leave without the car. When I finally got the car to the driver he said to me "They told you their would be an extra charge for household goods". I said "no they had not". The driver was so eager to leave and unfriendly that I did not try to discuss it within him thinking that I could clear this up with RIdeMovers the people my son had contracted with.

Also at this time I noticed on the driver's worksheet that he was supposed to collect $750 upon devlivery not $650 as my son had agreed. To the credit of RideMovers and the only thing that went sort of right was that they refunded this $100.

On the receiving end, the dispatcheri nsisted on receiving $900, $150 extra for the additional household goods, and if my son did not respond immediately $50 a day in storage. Once again the interaction was unfriendly. I told my son to pay the money and get his car out from these guys as soon as possible. Ride Movers did not return my call until the 3rd attempt.

Per our conversation. DOT regulations has a weight limit on all trucks. If you choose to load your vehicle down with personal items, there will be an additional fee. (as stated in the terms and conditions signed by you) Which you were aware of and agreed to at the time your vehicle was picked up. If the driver is unable to get to the location for pickup. The driver will ask that you meet him at a location that is legal and safe. We do not want any driver put in a dangerous or unsafe situation nor do we want any vehicle damaged. Even so, RideMovers Inc. agreed to pay $100.00 of your transport. Sincerely, Teresa
