Clockwork

I've shipped cars six times in the past and knew how things worked before I started. I made a few calls before getting to Rite Way and knew about what the going rate was for deposit (paid to broker) and money paid to the driver at delivery. At first, I was going to dismiss Jason at Rite Way because he had one of the lowest quotes (avoid the lowest cost company!). But two things impressed me. First, he had the lowest broker fee, which is a primary concern of mine (the broker fee doesn't really do anything, so I try to get that low). Theirs was only $125, which was the lowest of the companies I talked to (I eliminated companies with poor feedback without talking to them). Second, he claimed that a driver would get our car for $200, when everybody else was saying it would take $250-$300 to get it done. I doubted him but he checked the database and said he was confident it would get done for $200. He had a driver within 3 hours that could pick the car up the next day! Unfortunately, the car couldn't be ready that fast. I gave him a date it could be ready and he had a driver for my new date by the next day. The driver picked it up on time and delivered it to us the day after pickup. That is how car shipping is supposed to work. No "fat" in the costs. Quick. Painless.
