MAJOR Disappointment

After posting I needed a shipper on UShip I was inundated with shippers and options. After reading the reviews and prices I chose Roadrunner Auto Transport. They were not the cheapest bid, but between the reviews and what I considered a fair price, I signed my agreement on April 8th, 2014. After 8 days of inactivity I fired them. They would not answer my emails (If I sent 8 they answered 1-2), I called (usually got voicemail and left messages) and wouldn't get called back. When I would speak to someone they would apologize and say they were having problems getting someone to accept the load at my price. When I submitted my info ALL the shippers were aware of where the load was and where the load was going. There was no "mystery" to the job at hand. If no one would accept the load at the price they posted, then why tell me that was their "price"? They are supposed to be "professionals" and SHOULD have some idea what a shipper would expect for the assignment. After several days of being in limbo (NO contact with me) I finally got to speak to a real person and authorized an increase of 33%. They said they were SURE they could get someone to take it at the new bid. After another few days (of no communications or updates) it became apparent to me they were not going to be able to handle the load, so I cancelled the contract. All along the way I felt like they KNEW they bid way too low and KNEW it wasn't going to get picked up (my impression). I felt like the communication was not there as well. When I booked the load I told them I HAD to have the vehicle here by the 24th (and HAD to be picked up by the 25th). If they really thought wasn't going to happen at that price, AND had told me we are POSITIVE we can get this done with an increase of $XXX I would have approved it. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I have had several shipments before with other shippers, but none this far away. Previously I felt like I was kept in the loop and received good value. This time it was not like that and there is NO WAY I would recommend this shipper to anyone. Except maybe my ex-wife. They would probably get along well (non-communicative and undependable).
