WORST Transport EVER!

Just to be clear, I am experienced with having vehicles shipped cross country. I had bad experiences with brokers so I wanted to find the actual transporter and cut out the middleman. RoadRunner is a broker and NOT the actual shipper who will gladly charge you $245 to make a call to the same people you could find on Google yet they sell themselves as a transportation network.
After reading the reviews on THEIR website I thought I found a good transport company. Too bad I didnt find this review site until things went bad for me so I want to share my experience to warn others not to use them. I should have realized they were shady the minute they danced around the question when I asked if they were a broker or the actual shipper. Anthony told me they were a "network of drivers and trucks" which sounded to me that a guy was going to shop up in a RoadRunner truck with a RR uniform and RR paperwork. I didn't find out until the day before I was flying across country to meet them for shipping they were NOT the shipper and have NO control over the people who would handle my vintage (and not replaceable) race car and it was too late to do anything but move forward. I would have been better off using someone from U-ship because I could have dealt with the actual shipper and been guaranteed this would have went as promised.
I spoke with Anthony at X532 and he was overly eager to PROMISE me TOTAL SATISFACTION and GUARANTEE all my concerns in shipping my car from Washington to NJ would not be an issue for them to accommodate. I had these 3 SIMPLE requests (which he ASSURED me would not be a problem) and I SPECIFICALLY went over them BEFORE I agreed to book: Anthony GUARANTEED EVERY ONE OF THEM BUT FAILED TO DELIVER! I paid for an ENCLOSED trailer and was told by Anthony it would be either a single or 2 car trailer where the driver of the truck/trailer was the owner as well and my car was insured for $1 million. NONE of that was true!
1: The driver would meet me on a specific date within a specific 3 hour time window since I was flying from NJ to Canada to pick up the car in the morning and trailer it to Washington where I was flying out of the same night. I booked 2 weeks ahead and needed to be in contact with the driver to schedule the meet as I was not exactly sure of the time and did not want to be stranded 5000 miles from home with an Extremely Rare Vintage Race Car I couldnt drive. After calling 5 times over those 2 weeks, and NEVER getting a contact number for the driver, (anthouy was ALWAYS on another call or out of the office EVERY TIME I called. I called from another number and was able to reach him but he said he would call me back in an hour which he never did. Andrea called me 12 hours before I left with a number for the shippers driver.
2: I would be able to watch the car get loaded inside the trailer by the actual driver who would deliver it to me in NJ. It is a one of a kind and un-replacable Vintage Race Car and I didnt want it to be handled by a bunch of people I dont know.
3: The car would REMAIN INSIDE THE SAME TRAILER and NOT STARTED OR MOVED UNTIL DELIVERY to me in NJ because it has special startup procedures.
I was in contact with the driver from the minute I landed in Canada to keep him updated of my schedule so neither of us was stuck waiting for each other to arrive. I had a 2-3 hour drive to get from Canada to the US and was unsure of border crossing time delay so I kept texting and calling him every hour. All of my texts were replied to with "OK" but when I got delayed by 2 separate hailstorms, heavy blinding rain, traffic from 2 accidents, roadwork and detours I was running almost 2 hours behind what I expected, so I had to get dropped of at the airport and let the seller meet the driver. He was given specific instructions to pass to the driver but when I was boarding the plane for the red-eye flight home, the seller called me and said NOTHING was as promised. I understand I was the cause of the delay but these issues were NOT a result of me:
1: the driver wanted the seller to leave the car in the UNLOCKED AND UNSECURED yard and would load it the next day AFTER the seller left
2: it was going on to an OPEN trailer (I paid for enclosed)
3: it was going to be transferred to as many as 6 DIFFERENT trailers and as many drivers would handle the car.
I instructed the seller to NOT LEAVE the car until I got things figured out and was forced to fly home with NO contact with the seller or driver for the duration of my 6+ hour flight until I landed. As soon as I landed I began calling and texting the driver who ignored my calls and the dispatch was closed for another 3 hours. I called Anthony from that day until now (2 weeks later) and he still NEVER returned any of my calls. Been getting bounced around by reps who answer their phone as well as the Customer Service Manager Pamela X530.
I finally got the dispatcher where I came up with a solution. The seller left the car at the dispatch yard for a week until a 6 car trailer was there to load the car into. He left it in his trailer so he had to travel home to Canada then back the next week (3 hours EACH WAY!) to unload the car and get his trailer.
In all fairness to the ACTUAL transport company, from what they told me, my specific requests were NOT made aware to them by ANYONE at Road Runner. They were ONLY told to meet me on a specific date because I was only flying in for the day.
I had to pay for ALL the expenses getting this done to my requirements which were PROMISED to me by Anthony at Road Runner.
This is what it cost me in addition to the $1500.00 cash I paid to the driver for shipping:
$245 Booking fee to Road Runner (If I was given the contact info more than 12 hours before I left for this trip I could have Google searched and found this shipper and totally avoided the RR booking fee and possibly negotiated a better transport price).
$300 to the seller for fuel and travel time back a second time because the first one was included with the purchase of the car: 3 hours EACH WAY in a Ford 450 Super Duty Diesel
$130 for a hotel because he had to sleep overnight until the yard opened and I landed the next morning
$360 trailer rental because the seller needed the trailer that week and had to rent another for him to use while my car sat locked in his at the yard. The delivery was delayed for a week and I was sick to my stomach with worry about the safety of my car. Adding insult to injury I got a call from Pam who said they would refund me half of the booking fee but when I disputed the charge with my CC company RoadRunner is fighting the dispute!
ANYONE who wants to contact me to verify this is TRUE please feel free to.
BEWARE OF THESE GUYS!I
