I contracted with a very well known and well reviewed (4 1/2 out of 5 star) auto transport company prior to hiring Sherpa. The reason: cost and reviews. The other company was $300 less and had even better reviews than Sherpa. I entered into the agreement with this other company three weeks prior to car pick up date and was very flexible on my pick up dates. The car needed to go from Boston to California. I gave total flexibility to the pick up date but I needed the car delivered within a 7 day span of time (which is considered an excellent span in the transport business). My car was supposedly posted for three weeks with no bites from actual carriers. I contacted my transport agent many times and was told this was normal and that it would usually get chosen by transport last minute. Well, the day before - still nothing. Contacted my agent ;who said there were no transports available and that's why my car hadn't been chosen for pickup. However, he said he contacted someone they use alot and they could pick up my car three days later - they were just waiting for confirmation. Again, I waited. The afternoon before that date - still nothing. I contacted the agent again who was unavailable and spoke to another agent. I explained that I needed an answer one way or another about the next day or I was going to have to find another agent - the response: "fine, your canceled" and he hung up! This was a very highly rated company!! This was a company you will get every time when you do a google search. No BBB complaints. Everything was good. Reviews were great!!! I gave them weeks to secure a transport and this was how they treated me! Within ten minutes I was on the phone to Sherpa. The quote they had given me a month earlier had expired but they honored that quote without me even asking. The price would now have been higher. In any event, I locked in with them and within literally 30 minutes I got a call saying a transport had chosen my car and I should hear from them within 24 hours. I heard from the transport within 2 hours. The gentleman from Splendid Transportation made all the arrangements with me. My car was to be picked up the next day and I would get a call 30 minutes prior to pick up to give me time to get to an arranged spot for pick up that I chose. Sure enough the next day I got the call and brought the car. The man I met was great, he checked the car over, took his pictures and loaded it up. I was given all the paperwork Sherpa said I would get and the car was on its way.The car was supposed to be delivered to California between July 4-6. I was told I would receive a call 24 hours out and then again 30 minutes out. I was given contact information to check on my car if necessary and instructions on final payment (Sherpa's fee paid after they secured Splendid Transportation and Splendid's fee upon delivery). On July 3 I received the call my car was coming on July 4 and then on July 4 I received the call that it was 30 minutes away. Antoine was my driver with Splendid. When he arrived, he quickly and safely unloaded my car, told me to check it out and handled all the paperwork. He was on his way within 20-30 minutes. And I have to say he was very friendly and gave us all the time we needed to check over the car. My car arrived in 4-5 days and I'm happy to report there were no problems whatsoever. We took it for the car wash that comes along with Sherpa's deal and we hit the road again as planned. I have to say, Sherpa's people were great. They were so helpful, professional and just plain nice! They secured a transport in record time and that transport was just as helpful, professional and awesome at what they did!!! Yes, we paid $300 more than the original company we contracted with however, it was worth every dime! You really do get what you pay for! I would HIGHLY recommend Sherpa to anyone and everyone and I would also highly recommend Splendid Transportation to everyone!.. (I have to add that although Sherpa was $300 higher than the one company we originally contracted, Sherpa's price quote was in the same range as each and every other company we got a quote from. The company we originally hired and was actually better reviewed (thousands of reviews) came in $300 cheaper than anyone but I have to wonder where those reviews came from. They were clearly unprofessional and did not have the contacts that Sherpa clearly has. Thank you Sherpa and thank you Splendid Transportation!
