This is the first time that I have shipped my car cross-country and I was very nervous about doing it. To begin with, I only requested a quote from Safe-Direct Car Shipping, but over the course of the next 24 hours I received telephone calls and emails from no less than eighteen different firms. Therefore, be aware that if you request a quote from one company utilizing the link from TransportReviews.com somehow a number of other companies will also receive your information. I was extremely pleased with the service that I received from David at Safe-Direct. Calls were returned promptly and professionally and emails were answered promptly and I was constantly informed of the progress of assigning my carrier. When I telephoned the office, calls were always handled professionally and with the utmost in courtesy. Final cost was identical to the estimate. The driver was about four hours late picking up the vehicle in Ohio, and I probably would have been happier if he had informed me sooner regarding the delay, but this was only because I was already in California and scrambling then to find other neighbors who could meet the driver in Ohio, since the later arrival necessitated a frantic change in plans. Overall, though, I think that a four hour delay is really nothing in the big scheme of things. I did not receive any telephone calls from the driver while the car was being moved across the country, but then I did not request any information either. The driver was always very courteous when he called. The arrival in California was six hours late and again I probably would have just appreciated a telephone call sooner that the arrival was going to be delayed, but again, this is minor. Car arrived in great shape- only dirty, but what can you expect! Lots of follow-up afterwards to ensure that I was satisfied with the service. Overall, a GREAT job and I will use this company again without reservation.
