I was really concerned about this whole process after reading so many terrible stories online- it doesn't seem like there are too many forums for understanding how this process should work and what companies are trustworthy and prompt. I was expecting the worst and wound up with my car being delivered much earlier than expected and I walked away feeling like I paid a reaonsable price for cross-country transit.

SafeCar Direct (Jason) as a broker matched me up with US Ark Transport (Serge) and both were great. Jason was clear about what the brokerage fees and transport fees were and I liked that I didn't pay for brokerage until they actually gave me a carrier company, verified the promised pickup window, and other pertinent information confirming that someone was actually scheduling my car for transport. I had a two day pickup window and they picked it up in the afternoon of my second window day in California- I had my car delivered to NY within SIX days (they quoted me between 10-14). Serge was very nice and knowledgable about the area and found a good spot for the two of us to meet for pickup since my new place in NY on a small street in a hilly residential area in upstate NY.

Really great experience. If/when I need to move cars cross country again this will be my first call.
