The only issue we had with the move was the delivery.

The driver from PK Lines could not access Manhattan with his flat bed truck. He wanted us to meet him in New Jersey for pick up of the car. Obviously without a car of our own, we could not get to the location he originally desired. Having been assured of a door-to-door delivery, I was confused by the fact that a smaller truck to deliver the car into Manhattan had not been arranged. However, the driver was rather insistent on a New Jersey drop off.

Bobby at PK Lines was incredibly helpful in trying to arrange for an alternate delivery vehicle that would make it into Manhattan. He said they would put the car on a smaller truck in New Jersey, and bring the car into the city a couple of days later (it was close to the weekend). I said that would be fine with us. But then we were able to arrange to have the car dropped at friend's residence in New Jersey, so a truck transfer would not be necessary.

I went out to NJ late on Thursday afternoon, having been told the driver would be there Friday morning, only to get a call from the driver while at the train station that he would be in NJ that night, and wanted to make the drop off at 7. This was around 4:30, and I wasn't quite sure I would be able to get from my friend's place to the new location he was insisting on, roughly a mile from the house (again, not knowing the area well), and he did not seem to register my frustration or concern as a result. He had also sent me (and my partner) several text messages in regards to the delivery that were a bit hard to decipher, as were the conversations we had over the phone while he was in route.

Upon pick up of the car, the driver said he was glad to have made the hand off that night, as now he would have the next day off.

Ultimately, I don't find fault with Safe Direct or PK Lines for this, but the individual driver who was put his desires ahead of what had been promised to the customer.
