Just before I placed an order with a company I had found through a Google search I found this ratings website. It pointed me to three different companies that were highly rated. Safe-Direct were the only guys that answered my phone call in person. The rest asked me to leave a message (which I did on one of them and they never called me back). Jason took care of me and walked me through the process and was open and clear about what to expect. I was in a hurry but at Jaspon's advice we kept the price on the average side and decided to lift it up every day if we didn't get any takers.

We got a taker within the first 24 hours and so the car was picked up on time and we shipped it off to California.

I didn't hear anything for about a week so I think some information from Safe-Direct or the Transporter (Nationwide Transit in this case) would have been helpful. That said, when I called Safe-Direct 6 days later, Jason was right on it. The Nationwide Transit guy called on the 7th day to tell me he would have the car for me tomorrow (a Saturday) and he was incredibly flexible with arranging a time and location.

The transport driver could not get to my location so I walked down the street and completed the transaction in a car park but he made every effort to get as close as possible and I appreciated that. The car was in the same condition but obviously a little dirty as the truck was an open transporter.

Overall I couldn't have asked for much better service other than a little more information about the intended shipping schedule from the Transporter (but I'm sure if I had asked Safe-Direct that they would have followed up for me).

You're right about that, if you'd have asked us, we certainly would have followed up for you. Note to readers - we do a very high volume, but that doesn't mean we are not able to go the extra mile on each order. We operate on a 'No news is good news' philosophy at times, so if we don't hear of a problem from one side (you) or the other (the driver) we assume all is well. But a quick phone call if anything is amiss and we are there to resolve it.
