Car transport clearly has evolved into a fairly efficient business model with brokers arranging the transport and carriers selecting from what's available to suit their trips. Rating the service becomes a little more complex because so much goes on behind the scenes, much of which the broker has little control over. As customers, we deal with the brokers primarily followed by the carriers after things get rolling. In my case, I obviously selected a quality broker, and they in-turn selected a capable carrier. The guys at Safe-Direct did everything I had hoped they would. Their communication was consistent, professional and courteous. I found e-mail to be the best medium and they followed through in kind, replying promptly to my every query. A carrier was selected and pick-up scheduled sooner than expected, but we worked it out. I honestly doubt I could have selected a better broker for this transaction.

The carrier picked up the car at the prearranged time and arrived basically on time as well. Upon arrival in the destination town, the carrier second-guessed our prearranged drop-off point stopping 1/2 mile short where they began unloading cars in a considerably busier location than I had selected. When one of the cars blocking mine on the carrier trailer came up with a dead battery, they quickly realized their starter battery was also dead. They called and asked for assistance, to which I graciously provided. Jump starting a car on the top level of a carrier from the ground level requires a quality set of jumper-cables that they did not possess. Lucky for them, I did. So, upon their departure, I was left standing alone with 2 cars a half mile from home. Yet again they were lucky I was not bothered by having to walk back to retrieve the second car (after all, 1/2 mile short after ~2500 isn't all that bad). The car was dirty upon arrival, but you should expect that (I did). Otherwise it was no worse for the trip and all things considered, I would not hesitate to call Safe-Direct again to arrange transport even if they used the same carrier. I will keep my jumper-cables handy though.
