Safe-Direct Review: My experience with Safe-Direct was positive overall. I had a few phone conversation with the rep and he was very helpful throughout the process. The FAQ videos on their website were also helpful, and nice and short which was great.
Ramaz Trans Inc. Review: The day of pick-up I was unable to meet the large window due to work. The truck driver had me drive out to drop of the car earlier, and I had to take a $25 cab home.
I had two large duffel bags in the trunk and the driver said they usually only allow one bag, and that additional would cost extra. I mentioned I purposely left the tank near empty so the gross weight had actually been reduced, but he said it didn't matter. When I asked how much extra for the bags, one at a time he physically lifted each bag by one end and said "mm...$50." I thought this was Very sketchy but reluctantly agreed.
Delivery was one day early. I had a friend pick it up in DC since my car beat me there. The first time I drove it I noticed my (leather) steering wheel had been roughed up. Hopefully some leather conditioner will take care of it.
I picked safe-direct because of their positive reviews, and even paid extra for peace of mind. I would use them again, however I would definitely request they find me a different, more professional carrier.
