I had never shipped a car before and was somewhat overwhelmed by the number of firms to sort through. I came across the web site for Ship a Car Direct. The reviews were good, so I contacted them. Jason was very thorough explaining how the business worked, how pricing would be set, what their responsibilities were - all my questions. The form he then sent me had additional resources I could check, as well as a link to get the process started. I filled out and submitted the forms first thing the next morning. Later that morning, I had a confirmation email with the information about the carrier that would be doing my job. The car was picked up in Houston that evening, and was in Philadelphia 50 hours later. I had spent more time fretting about how I would make a decision than the car spent in transit.
Cost - Very competitive. During my initial investigations, I had gotten one quote that was slightly lower than what I ended up paying and one quote that was equal, but I was not able to find reviews for those firms; I also had one quote that was much higher.
Service - Could not have been easier for me, or for the party at the receiving end. And Jason kept in touch throughout.
Timeliness - Faster than I had imagined, both for pick-up after I submitted the forms and in-transit time.
Dispute resolution - No opportunity to test, I am pleased to say.
