I was impressed with how quickly our car got up to the destination! David gave us a quote for an open carrier on about a Tuesday, and we called back on Wednesday to say we were re-thinking and might want a closed vehicle. David put the order on hold, and one day later, on Thursday, we decided to put our 1957 VW beetle in a closed vehicle. ( We had kept it in the garage for about 40 years, and we had just had it detailed, so why have it arrive dusty to our son in Oregon?) Right away we got a carrier who responded, that very day, and the next morning it was loaded! Twenty-four hours later, it was unloaded in Portland, on a Saturday morning about 10 AM. The carrier was great. He kept good contact with us and our son. It all went like clock work. It was quicker than we expected by far, and that was good. On a sub-note, my wife had read the whole Terms document, and she had emailed one question to David, which was about the remote possibility of a car being damaged and the car owner's insurance getting involved. In such a case Ship a Car Direct would reimburse the owner his insurance's deductible up to $500, but Terms stipulated a deposit of $250, and the quoted deposit was $225. I asked David about this, and he said they would reimburse the deductible up to $500 even if the deposit was $225 instead of $250. They might want to change the language in the Terms, if this is the case. Small print matters. To underline, though, we felt very confident the whole time with this company, we expected the best, and we got the best. We recommend Ship a Car Direct.
