I shopped around for quotes, and initially went with a lower bidder (Hilton). However, their customer service was terrible. They barely followed up for over 3-4 weeks and their phone service appeared to be disconnected at one point, so I didn't feel confident with them finding a carrier and handling my car. But I remembered Jason's emails from Ship-A-Car Direct, which seemed very clear and not gimmicky. Also, the quoted price was decent, so I dug his emails out of my e-trash. I was worried he wouldn't be able to secure a transporter as I only had about a week to move at that point, but I gave it a shot.

Jason and the Customer Service team were friendly, attentive, and prompt. Since I was unfamiliar with the process, they told me what to expect, what to have ready for the transporter, and they fulfilled any requests I had quickly. They assigned VK Express as my transporter, who were also awesome. I want to give VK Express bonus points for allowing me to pay using debit/credit card since I did not have over $1300 in cash and I also did not feel secure carrying that much in cash, check or money order. My transporter was assigned on Sept. 24, and we agreed for my car to be picked up on either Sept. 29 or 30. VK Express picked up my car on Sept. 30, and I received it in California on Oct. 4. It was actually a pretty carefree experience considering all the horror stories I had read online and heard from some friends. I wish I had gone with Ship-A-Direct first because when I initially got the quote, it was cheaper. But being down to the wire, $100-200 extra was worth just getting my car across the country swiftly. Plus, they offered a rebate if I wrote about my experience, which I was more than glad to do. They earned it.
