Easy transport with Ship A Car Direct

I thought I was going to have to drive my car from CA to NJ, or find someone to do it, but a friend suggested I try a transport service. When she was on the road with a touring show lots of other cast members had their cars shipped when the distance between cities was longer than they wanted (or could) drive before needing to start performances. I was unsure of this process having never done it before, but after some research I settled on Ship A Car Direct. After requesting a quote, I put in a online request and heard back from Emily within an hour. She explained the process and started the ball rolling. I heard back that same day that Emily had assigned a carrier with an estimated pick-up date. In the next few days I received several emails with helpful advice about (including videos) about taking pictures before the car left, how to deal with the bill of lading on both ends, etc.

I had to fly to NJ before the cart could be picked up, but I was in contact with the carrier at the direct number that Emily provided. I gave them my father’s name and number and the carrier stayed in touch with him letting him know a day before the time they would pick up the car and also checking back with him the morning of the pick up date.

The dispatcher told me the transport would take 7-10 days and on the 7th day I received a call from the driver that he would deliver the car about 1pm the next day. Not long after 1PM I got a call that he was down the street a bit and around the corner (because he couldn’t stop directly in front of my house. The car was in the exact condition (plus a little road dirt) that is was when it left Dad’s house.

Emily was in contact with me periodically through the 8 days of transport (which was a stormy week in January) and always assured me that she was available if I needed help throughout the process. When I move back to CA, this will be the first company I contact to help transport my car.
