I was very happy with my Ship A Car Direct experience. They helped coordinate delivery to DC, where I was only a few days a week, and made sure the car arrived from the third-party carrier with the promised dates, even when it looked like the third-party was going to miss that window. Price was also very reasonable (about $100 less than when it shipped it with another service from NY to CA).
