Having been the first time using a vehicle transport company, I contacted Ship A Car Direct and Tom was assigned to be my broker. He answered all my questions, explained the process thoroughly to me and became the intermediate coordinator when I was on the road and unavailable. I highly recommend Ship A Car Direct and would use them again if the need arose. My suggestion to others is to ask specific questions that pertain to your situation. For example, there was no one on the receiving end available until a specific date, therefore, my broker explained that I could reject the first offer to pick up and just wait for another closer to the date I needed. Having our broker understand our specific situation made everything much easier and simple. I also suggest that in the event you leave your car with a neighbor or friend for pick-up, have your broker secure deposit information in advance so that your friend or neighbor does not have to deal with that. My friend handled the pick up in Ohio and I handled the receiving in Florida, just about 24 hours later. The driver's name was Jim Dugan and he worked for Lauritsen Transport out of Altoona, PA. He was wonderful and called me when he was about 2 hrs away. He asked questions about the road access (this is a brand new development) and we determined he could get the truck into the complex and he ended up delivering it right to my door! It was fascinating to watch the loading and unloading process and to see how much care and protection was provided. I paid him cash and tipped him, he was a pleasure to work with and I knew my convertible was in good hands and got to me safe, undamaged, clean and ready to drive in Florida! Top Down, Thumbs Up!
