The car got here on time. Since it was an older British car that I had never seen it worked out well. The shippers may not have understood the manual choke. The car was shipped directly to my mechanic. After it was off the truck I drove it around the block where it stalled right in front of the garage bay. It turns out that a needle nose pliers had been clamped to the fuel line of one of the carburetors. Can't say how or why or who.
