After doing my research on auto transport services, I landed on Ship A Car Direct. The key selling point for me was their insurance coverage (better than most other brokers I reviewed). I worked with David Franco @ Ship A Car Direct, and he was able to answer all my questions and address my concerns providing me with the confidence to contract with them. He was able to locate a carrier for the pick up and delivery within the window I requested- however, the price came in $50 more than the original estimate. Given that I didn't want to lose the window, I accepted the additional charge. David also provided me a copy of the carrier's insurance policy. The carrier chosen was Top Line Service Inc. Overall, my experience was average with the carrier. The main concern is that the dispatch never called me- I had to call them to find out pick up date/time. The driver on the other hand was very good at communicating. He kept me informed of his status updates to pick up the car as well as drop off. He did a good job on the bill of lading as well. However, the key issue was that he arrived 2 days later than the original estimate to pick up and delivered 1 day earlier than expected (luckily, I had a friend at the destination to receive the car on my behalf). Given how frequently the driver checked in and provided updates, I am willing to overlook the the issue with the late pick up and early delivery. My car arrived safely and in the condition I gave the car in which is what ultimately matters.
