This was our first time shipping a car, so we entered the process with some anxiety and skepticism. After checking out a couple of vendors on the BBB site, we settled on ShipACarDirect because of its competitive bid and the customer service provided by Stefan, our contact person with the vendor. The videos on their web site were also helpful.
Stefan was able to get a shipper to accept his first bid within 48 hours, which indicated that he had put in a fair price neither too high nor too low. We were quickly contacted by the transport company. Although neither pickup nor delivery points were in remote destinations, there were some challenges in the driver getting his truck large to manage door-to-door service, so we worked with him on identifying mutually acceptable locations to load and unload the car. The driver was polite, experienced, and professional.
Communications throughout the process were excellent. We received follow-up e-mails from ShipACar throughout the process, reminding us to do things like photograph the vehicle before loading (they have a special smartphone app to help you with this), going over the bill of lading with the driver, etc. The driver was also communicative, phoning both us and the person taking delivery several times to confirm pick up and drop off locations and letting us know how close he was to being on schedule. The vehicle arrived safely with no damage.
Overall, this was a very good experience that exceeded our expectations. Although the company is offering an incentive to submit this, be assured this is an honest review.
